Good Time to Buy a House? Yes. A Car? Not So Fast...

Yakov72 | Jan 9, 2013 11:52 AM ET "The MBA expects the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage will break above four percent, from its current average around 3.5 percent, in the second quarter of 2013, and will rise to 4.5 percent by the end of the year. "(c) === And there is a beautiful fix to this. Bernanke just has to stop buying his monthly 45B mortgages. Not only it`ll bring rates down, it`ll save us these 45B.

ckoffend | Jan 9, 2013 12:20 PM ET Of course if you are financially responsible, you are way too smart to borrow money to buy a depreciating car. Car loans are for financial morons that want to look like they have money when they really don`t. You know those idiots. The people that drive around the bank`s car, park it in the bank`s garage and watch TV on the bank owned TV. When they feel really stressed, they go on a bank owned vacation and put on their bank owned clothes in the morning and sit down to the bank owned breakfast. Imagine these morons will have eaten and expelled the bank owned breakfast and will still be paying for it months later. Then they complain that the bank is ripping them off! Ha ha idiots, you are all just slaves to your lenders.

We.are.being.played | Jan 9, 2013 12:22 PM ET Paul, Are you buying/upgrading a house?

NewDay12 | Jan 9, 2013 01:15 PM ET If your car works and paid for its always a bad time to be a debt slaves for a vehicle.

jonnyboiler | Jan 9, 2013 01:24 PM ET yet my government student loans are still at 6.75% and my private ones at 8.75%. Thanks banksters

zardos09 | Jan 9, 2013 02:06 PM ET How come credit card rates are not coming down?

somedude4 | Jan 9, 2013 03:04 PM ET @ckoffend You forgot to include all those financial morons that have to take on a mortgage to afford a home? Do you have a mortgage?

t_dizz | Jan 9, 2013 03:36 PM ET If you can get a 2% loan to buy a car it is better to take the loan and invest your 30k in something that is giving you a 5% dividend yield like say VZ.
