TaxMan2002 | Jan 11, 2013 01:18 PM ET I searched and searched, but can not find the ticker symbol of American Home Real Estate Investment Trust. All I get is American Home Mortgage Investment Corp REIT(AHMIQ) which is definitly not the same thing. I wish the author would have included that in her article. Anyone out there have any luck tracking it down? I`d like to have a portion of my portfolio in single family homes.

caricommsteve | Jan 29, 2013 04:27 PM ET If you get the idea of REIT out of your head and get a couple of like-minded investors together, this is a very lucrative times to be in with Real Estate and Low Interest. Don`t go hogwild but cherry pick the problems, the REIT Reps are getting all the good deals. I can attest to that. Take your time and buy right because that is where the built-in profit is. Stick to the motto: "Bad problem in a good Neighborhood" and you can`t go wrong in the short-term whether you flip or hold. This assumes you do your homework, have decent analytical skills and can manage after buying. It will take years and better overall growth for rates for things to change much and there will be problem properties for the foreseeable future thats for sure. REITS may burn themselves on this if there c
