justmakemo | Jan 17, 2013 08:39 AM ET So stop the stimulus enema already!

Mr.Clumpus | Jan 17, 2013 08:40 AM ET This is bad news for those who like bad news!

Mr.Clumpus | Jan 17, 2013 08:41 AM ET We need to increase the stimulus enema, the patient is still constipated.

PaulMcGee | Jan 17, 2013 08:44 AM ET I remember when 435,000 was considered pretty good news.

t_dizz | Jan 17, 2013 08:46 AM ET I bet Santelli is psst and has some crazy government conspiracy theory why the numbers are looking better.

antisocial | Jan 17, 2013 08:47 AM ET down today up tomorrow simply unrealistic. but usually construction slows down in the winter!!!!!!!!!!!

ezparr5 | Jan 17, 2013 08:50 AM ET Why is it that I do not believe anything that the government publishes anymore? The job market is terrible and the government is taxing the hell out of small businesses - who are the ones who drive the US economy. When will the special interest groups realize that they continue to drive this country into insignificance?? The politicians need to step away from the trough and get real or we will fade away ...

mommicked | Jan 17, 2013 08:50 AM ET Since they continually manipulate the Unemployment figure if the Federal government wanted to make unemployment numbers look really good they could just reduce the number of weeks for benefits to 26 and the unemployment number could fall to a wonderful 3.5. Obama and Biden could have themselves a little press conference and announce to the world this great victory. And the Welfare Masses would cheer gleefully.

t_dizz | Jan 17, 2013 08:53 AM ET My Uncle owns a manufacturing company and he is starting to get some of his old jobs back from companies that sent the orders to China. The wage pressures in China as well as the incompetence of their engineers and management is forcing american companies to consider bringing parts orders back to the US. It`s the same with call centers. Once the customer is completely psst about talking with someone in india and it starts to eat at profits, the companies will bring these jobs back to america. We still have the best people! America needs to think more positively about itself. Enough of the Republicans making it sound like 1/2 of america sucks. We are a Union and together we win and divided we fall. I am tired of falling, we are better than any country and it is time we feel

t_dizz | Jan 17, 2013 08:58 AM ET ezparr5, enough with the we are taxing the heck out of the small businesses. Corporate taxes haven`t gone up or down. If you own an S corp and are being paid more than 500k per year you are seeing a slight up tick in your taxes. Not enough to prevent you from living and doing business. The job market is only terrible for the unskilled and those who are college grads who are probably not as bright as you might think. There are jobs but you might have to move to find a job. It might be one of the US`s main problem is we plant roots in one place and never consider leaving an area where there is no work to go to another where there are jobs.
